Roswell Woman Wins Great Golf Giveaway Contest

Elaine Dotts of Roswell won a two-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, plus two rounds each at Twin Warriors Golf Club and Santa Ana Golf Club — the grand prize in Sun Country Golf magazine’s “Great Golf Giveaway.”

Dotts’ name was picked by the magazine’s business manager, Ken Adams, in a random drawing of 70 correct entries to the golf trivia question: Name the youngest and oldest winners of the British Open. (Answers “Young Tom” Morris in 1868 and his father “Old Tom” Morris in 1867).

Winner of the second-place prize, two rounds at Santa Ana Golf Club, is Norman Weichbrodt of Albuquerque. Third-place winner is Rex Throckmorton, also of Albuquerque; he wins dinner for two at the Prairie Star Restaurant.

Prizes were donated by Roger Martinez, director of Golf at Santa Ana Golf Corp., as a thank you for the volunteer participation of Sun Country golfers in staging the PGA of America’s 2009 Professional National Championship at Twin and Santa Ana and televised nationally by The Golf Channel in early August.
