UNM Regents Delay Master Plan Action
The University of New Mexico Board of Regents has delayed action on a master plan that preserves the UNM North Golf Course following criticism by Albuquerque City Councilor Ike Benton.
Public comments on the plan, published on Aug. 11 in draft form, will be accepted through Sept. 9. The regents are expected to act on Sept. 29 on a plan developed by the architecture firm Dekker Perrich Sabatini to preserve the golf course as “reserve lands” and to improve the walking-running track around the course’s perimeter.
The master plan, when approved, will guide the unversity’s development strategy for the next 10 years.
