N.M. Open Resumes Play

Play of the first day of the New Mexico Open was suspended Wednesday due to darkness, with three groups still on the course outside of Ruidoso.

Nine players were scheduled to finish the first round at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Championship Golf Course on Thursday morning. Play had been suspended earlier because of lightning, but was restarted at 6:50 p.m.

Ashton Woods and Chris Thompson were tied at 4-under. Last year’s winner, Brian Kortan was tied for 6th at 3-under at the IMG course, which is playing at Par 71 for the event.
